Installation & Support
Everything you need to know before you buy
How thick is the steel? Is it real plate?
3/16" A36 hot-rolled steel plate. Not tube, not sheet. Every TKMAUTO bumper is laser-cut from the same 3/16" plate used on rock sliders and skid plates, robot-welded for consistency, then powder-coated matte black. High-wear zones (winch mount, shackle tabs) are 1/4" doubler plate for extra rigidity.
Will my winch fit?
Yes — fits all common 9K to 12K winches. The winch mount is drilled for the standard 10" x 4.5" bolt pattern used by Warn, Smittybilt, Rough Country, and most major winch brands. The fairlead window accepts both roller and hawse fairleads. No adapter plate required.
- Tested winches: Warn VR EVO 10-S/12-S, Smittybilt X2O-10/12, Rough Country PRO12000S
- Max line size: 3/8" steel cable or synthetic rope
- Winch not included — pick up separately
Do I need to drill? Will it cut off airbag sensors?
No drilling. The bumper uses the factory frame bolt holes — same bolts, same threads. Installation is a bolt-swap.
Airbag sensors are preserved. Every bumper includes cutouts and reuses your OEM parking sensors, fog lights, and camera (when applicable). Front collision sensors relocate to the provided bracket, which is tuned to not trigger false positives or disable Adaptive Cruise Control on Ford and RAM trucks 2019+.
How long does installation take?
Most installs run 2–4 hours with two people. One person can do it, but lifting the bumper (~80–130 lbs depending on model) is easier with a helper or a floor jack.
- Basic hand tools: 18mm / 21mm sockets, torque wrench, floor jack
- All grade-8 hardware kitted and pre-sorted in the box
- Illustrated instructions + video walkthrough for your exact year/model
- Front bumper: ~2 hours solo, ~1.5 hours with help
- Rear bumper: ~1.5 hours solo, ~45 min with help
