Installation Steps

1

Prepare Roof Surface

Clean the roof and factory mounting points thoroughly. Remove any dirt, wax, or debris to ensure proper gasket sealing.

Locate factory mounting points: Identify the pre-drilled mounting holes or factory roof rail attachment points on your vehicle.

2

Install Mounting Feet

Mounting feet installation

Attach mounting feet to factory points using provided hardware. Place rubber gaskets between mounting feet and roof surface to prevent water intrusion and protect paint.

Hand-tighten only at this stage to allow for adjustment.

3

Position Side Rails

Side rails

With your helper, lift the side rails onto the mounting feet. Ensure equal spacing and parallel alignment.

Check measurements: Side rails should be centered with equal front and rear overhang.

4

Install Crossbars

Crossbars

Slide crossbars into the T-slot channels on side rails. Position according to your cargo needs:

General cargo: Space 24-36 inches apart
Rooftop tent: Follow tent manufacturer spacing requirements
Cargo box: Match box mounting points

Tighten T-slot bolts to secure crossbars perpendicular to side rails.

5

Final Tightening

Tightening

Tighten all mounting bolts in a cross pattern (front driver, front passenger, rear driver, rear passenger) to ensure even pressure.

Torque specification: Follow manufacturer guidelines (typically 20-25 ft-lbs for mounting feet, 15-20 ft-lbs for crossbars).

Important: Do not over-tighten. Excessive torque can damage aluminum components or vehicle roof.
6

Final Check

Shake the rack gently to check for movement. Verify all bolts are tight and gaskets are properly seated.

Measure total height: Note your new vehicle height for garage clearance and low-clearance areas.

Load Capacity

Dynamic Load (Moving)

300 lbs maximum while driving. Includes all cargo, accessories, and mounting hardware weight.

Static Load (Parked)

1000 lbs maximum when stationary. Suitable for rooftop tents with occupants. Always verify your vehicle's roof rating.

Weight Distribution

Distribute weight evenly. Secure all cargo with proper tie-downs. Heavier items should be positioned lower and centered.

Post-Installation Checklist

  • All mounting bolts torqued to specification
  • Side rails parallel and centered
  • Crossbars perpendicular and secure
  • Rubber gaskets properly seated
  • No rattles or movement
  • Total vehicle height measured and noted

Maintenance

After 100 Miles

Re-check all bolt torque. Vibration may cause settling during break-in period.

Monthly

Inspect mounting bolts and gaskets. Clean with automotive soap and water.

Before Off-Road Trips

Verify all bolts are tight. Check cargo is properly secured. Confirm load is within capacity limits.
