Sliding window open

Sliding glass sides

Open the door. Or just the window.

Each side is a tinted tempered-glass gullwing door with a sliding window built in. Loading gear? Swing the whole door up. Just want air for the dog, or a night in the bed? Slide the window open and leave the door locked. Open both sliders and air moves straight across the bed — for a sleeping platform, a truck-bed camp, or a dog riding in back, it's the difference between a box and a room.

Glass gullwing doors, open

Sliding window, from inside

Three-side access

Full gullwing access

Everything within reach.

Two full-length gullwing doors plus the rear door open the bed from three sides. Gas struts hold each door up on their own, so the cooler or toolbox pushed against the cab is an arm's reach from the curb. Nobody crawls into the bed.

6 locking points

Six-lock security

Lock down the whole bed.

Six locking points cover both side doors and the rear door. Close it up and your tools, recovery gear, and camping equipment sit behind locked aluminum and tempered glass — not a snap-on cover.

T-slot rails

Crossbars

Rack-ready roof, both sides

Rooftop tent

Rooftop tent + awning

Full-length T-slot roof · 450 lb dynamic / 850 lb static

Build above the bed.

Two T-slot rails run the length of the roof. Crossbars, a rack, a rooftop tent, an awning, solar, a bike or kayak carrier — anything with T-slot hardware bolts on, slides where you need it, and comes off clean. Rated 450 lb driving and 850 lb parked: a two-person tent, the people in it, and the gear on the rack.

Door storage · interior expansion points

Doors and walls, ready for your build.

The inside of each gullwing door is a flat, rigid aluminum panel — mount a MOLLE board, a tool rack, or a camp-kitchen shelf and it swings up and out with the door, right where you're standing. Inside, rivet mounting points are already in the roof and both side walls: lights, storage panels, shelves, bolt on without drilling through the shell.

Door panels: tools and recovery gear on one side, camp kitchen on the other

Snow — rooftop tent on

Road tested. Canada tested.

Built for years outside.

Every design gets road tested — vibration and wind load at highway speed — then goes through a Canadian season of deep cold, high humidity, and freeze–thaw swings, to see what the seals, doors, frame, and fasteners do. And because the shell is aluminum, not steel, there's no red rust waiting under the paint. Rain, snow, road salt, coastal air: that's what it was built for.

Glass doors up — gas struts

Crossbars on the T-slot — no drilling

Sealed by design

Built for DIY · no drilling

Easy to build. Sealed by design.

One bolt size runs the whole cap — M8 at every joint, one socket in your hand. The critical seams arrive with 3M sealing tape already on the panel: line it up, torque it down, and the joint is fastened and sealed in the same step. Then it clamps to the bed rails. No holes in your truck, and it comes off the same way it went on.

Two people, a socket set, and your driveway
Modular by design: doors, panels, glass, and hardware are individual parts — damage one, replace one, not the cap

Lakeside camp, sliding glass sides

Made for the campsite

Wake up to the view.

Sliders open for the breeze, glass for the morning light, a tent on the roof for the night. It's a camper shell that actually feels like camping.

Great topper for a great price

I shopped for months for an affordable topper for my F-150 until I finally found this one from TKM Auto. It has almost everything I wanted (would have liked a sliding front window but it's okay), side windows/gull wings without bulky hardware, glass all around, lightweight but strong, and actually good looking. It fits PERFECTLY!

This topper is sleek where it's nice and durable where it counts. I just put it on myself (DEFINITELY suggest having a friend help, got a little scary there for a minute) but I absolutely love it. I just stood there and stared for several minutes. If you're on the fence, just get it! I bought this on a Wednesday night and it was at my doorstep the following Tuesday and I live 1200 miles away.

Best of all, my dog loves it!

Everything was as they stated

Everything was as they stated. Cap is made of quality materials with no bare spots where the powder coat didn’t get applied. I was able to put it together in about 2 hours by myself and needed an additional person to put it on the truck. The directions are pretty lacking in specificity, however, the online guide is a little more clear.

Quality is as expected and then some

I'll be as honest as possible here. I bought this for our move to WV from CA, shipping took 2 weeks to ship out without a warning it's been delayed (website says 2 business days before stock ran out online), I almost had to cancel, they reassured me and it arrived in 2 days, I built it myself in a few hours, I wish the instructions were updated with the new materials they used with the gaskets, I had to buy a $15 3rd brake light module from Summit so the third brake light does not blink with the left tail light (nothing in the instructions about needing that), it's lighter than expected, my wife and my mom helped me load it onto the truck using moving blankets to slide it on. Locks feel tough and the covers make it feel more protected from the elements than the pictures show online. It has traveled almost 3000 miles with zero issues, driven through 2 thunderstorms with no leaks, gas mileage doesn't seam to be no less than .5 mpg if anything. I am happy with this purchase and have given recommendations to friends and family if they decide to look for a truck cap.

Forest Grove OR - Great experience!

Great job with delivery and the build went smooth. I am getting lots of "wow" comments from the neighborhood. Overall a great buying experience and value.

Great looking and functional cap

Easy to assemble. Very study but lightweight which is why I got this one to minimize range loss on my Ford Lightning. It looks great too. Already got compliments on it.

Questions

Frequently Asked

How long does installation take?

Most customers complete the install in about 1–2 hours with two people. No drilling is required — the cap secures to your existing bed rail holes with the included mounting clamps. An install guide is in the box.

Does it come with side windows, or is it solid?

We build both versions on the same 6061-T6 aluminum shell — same load rating, same bolt-on install. The difference is only the side panels:

Windows — tempered sliding glass on the driver and passenger sides. Better for overlanding, camping, pets, or any time you want airflow and outward visibility.
Solid — fully enclosed aluminum panels. Better for job-site tool security or gear you want out of sight and keyed-locked.

Will it fit my truck?

This cap is cut for the specific year, make, model, and bed length listed in the fitment box at the top of the page. If your truck matches that spec, the cap is engineered to bolt right on. Short-bed and long-bed versions are not interchangeable.

Will the aluminum rust or the powder coat fade?

The shell is 6061-T6 aluminum — corrosion resistance is inherent to the material, so the structure won't rust. The exterior is finished in powder-coated black for UV protection. Even if the powder-coat gets scuffed at a job site, the aluminum underneath stays sound. If you ever have a structural concern, contact us at info@tkmauto.com and we'll work with you directly.

How does shipping work?

Free freight shipping in the continental US, from our California warehouse via LTL carrier. Delivery requires a signature; the carrier will schedule a window once it reaches your local terminal. A phone number is required at checkout so the freight carrier can reach you to schedule delivery.

Built with 6061-T6 aluminum shell and stainless steel hardware. If you ever have a structural concern with your cap, contact us at info@tkmauto.com and our California team will work with you directly.
