Each side is a tinted tempered-glass gullwing door with a sliding window built in. Loading gear? Swing the whole door up. Just want air for the dog, or a night in the bed? Slide the window open and leave the door locked. Open both sliders and air moves straight across the bed — for a sleeping platform, a truck-bed camp, or a dog riding in back, it's the difference between a box and a room.

Everything within reach.

Two full-length gullwing doors plus the rear door open the bed from three sides. Gas struts hold each door up on their own, so the cooler or toolbox pushed against the cab is an arm's reach from the curb. Nobody crawls into the bed.

Build above the bed.

Two T-slot rails run the length of the roof. Crossbars, a rack, a rooftop tent, an awning, solar, a bike or kayak carrier — anything with T-slot hardware bolts on, slides where you need it, and comes off clean. Rated 450 lb driving and 850 lb parked: a two-person tent, the people in it, and the gear on the rack.

The inside of each gullwing door is a flat, rigid aluminum panel — mount a MOLLE board, a tool rack, or a camp-kitchen shelf and it swings up and out with the door, right where you're standing. Inside, rivet mounting points are already in the roof and both side walls: lights, storage panels, shelves, bolt on without drilling through the shell.

Every design gets road tested — vibration and wind load at highway speed — then goes through a Canadian season of deep cold, high humidity, and freeze–thaw swings, to see what the seals, doors, frame, and fasteners do. And because the shell is aluminum, not steel, there's no red rust waiting under the paint. Rain, snow, road salt, coastal air: that's what it was built for.

One bolt size runs the whole cap — M8 at every joint, one socket in your hand. The critical seams arrive with 3M sealing tape already on the panel: line it up, torque it down, and the joint is fastened and sealed in the same step. Then it clamps to the bed rails. No holes in your truck, and it comes off the same way it went on.

Frequently Asked

How long does installation take?

Most customers complete the install in about 1–2 hours with two people. No drilling is required — the cap secures to your existing bed rail holes with the included mounting clamps. An install guide is in the box.

Does it come with side windows, or is it solid?

We build both versions on the same 6061-T6 aluminum shell — same load rating, same bolt-on install. The difference is only the side panels:

Windows — tempered sliding glass on the driver and passenger sides. Better for overlanding, camping, pets, or any time you want airflow and outward visibility.
Solid — fully enclosed aluminum panels. Better for job-site tool security or gear you want out of sight and keyed-locked.

Will it fit my truck?

This cap is cut for the specific year, make, model, and bed length listed in the fitment box at the top of the page. If your truck matches that spec, the cap is engineered to bolt right on. Short-bed and long-bed versions are not interchangeable.

Will the aluminum rust or the powder coat fade?

The shell is 6061-T6 aluminum — corrosion resistance is inherent to the material, so the structure won't rust. The exterior is finished in powder-coated black for UV protection. Even if the powder-coat gets scuffed at a job site, the aluminum underneath stays sound. If you ever have a structural concern, contact us at info@tkmauto.com and we'll work with you directly.

How does shipping work?

Free freight shipping in the continental US, from our California warehouse via LTL carrier. Delivery requires a signature; the carrier will schedule a window once it reaches your local terminal. A phone number is required at checkout so the freight carrier can reach you to schedule delivery.
