Is the roll bar steel? Will it rust?
Yes — 2.5" OD carbon steel tubing for maximum strength (aluminum roll bars flex too much for light-bar and spare-tire loads). To protect against rust, every bar gets a two-stage finish: E-coat first (the same corrosion primer OEM automakers use), then automotive powder-coat over top.
Do I need to drill holes in my truck bed?
No drilling required. The bar mounts through your factory stake pockets using our bolt-on stake pocket mount plates. If you ever remove the bar, the only thing left behind is the factory stake pockets — bed stays original.
Can I mount a light bar and a spare tire?
Yes. The top crossbar has pre-drilled tabs for a 30–50" LED light bar (single or dual row) and the rear cross supports up to a 35" spare tire. You can also hang a Hi-Lift jack, jerry can holder, or flag pole from the side tubes.
Will it work with a tonneau cover?
Yes, with most soft and tri-fold tonneaus (BakFlip MX4, Tyger T3, Extang Solid Fold). The bar legs sit on the stake pockets, outside the tonneau rails. Hard retractable covers may need verification — contact us with your cover model and we'll confirm.
How long does installation take?
90–120 minutes with two people. The bar is heavy — plan for a friend. Use blue Loctite on the stake-pocket bolts (we include a small tube) and torque to the spec in the manual.
